ABOUT DR. STARBUCK
Cancer Survivor. Wife. Mother. Grandmother.
Business Owner. Spiritual Guide.
Fierce believer in love's power to heal and transform.
Meet Dr. Lorelei Starbuck, a woman whose life is a testament to resilience, love, and the courage to keep rising, no matter what life brings.
Born and raised in Colorado and now rooted in Texas, Dr. Starbuck is the proud mother of two grown sons and grandmother to six beautiful grandchildren. She's been married to her beloved husband, Ed, for 49 years, and together they've counseled countless couples on how to build lasting, love-filled marriages.
As co-owners of two successful businesses, Elope in Austin and Chapel of Love ATX, Lorelei and Ed have officiated over 4,000 heartfelt ceremonies across 4 decades, crafting personal love story experiences.
HER CANCER JOURNEY
A cancer diagnosis changes everything. Lorelei knows this not from a textbook — but from lived, bone-deep experience. When she received her diagnosis, the world as she knew it shifted beneath her feet.
She faced chemotherapy, the fog of treatment, and the quiet terror that comes with not knowing what tomorrow holds. At the same time, her husband Ed was navigating brain surgery to manage Parkinson's disease. Side by side, they walked through those turbulent times together — with courage, faith, and an unshakeable belief in the light ahead.
And yet — while in the midst of chemotherapy treatment, brain fog, and emotional exhaustion — Lorelei accomplished what many thought impossible: she earned her PhD in Philosophy & Comparative Religion at the age of 69. Her 16,000-word dissertation explored the existence of God, written and infused with both scholarly rigor and lived spiritual truth.
"I did not just survive cancer.
I let it transform me."
— Dr. Lorelei Starbuck
REMISSION & RENEWAL
Today, Lorelei is in remission — and that word carries a weight of gratitude she cannot fully put into words. She emerged from that season not diminished, but deepened. More present. More compassionate. More certain than ever that every moment is a gift.
Cancer stripped away the noise and left behind what truly matters: connection, presence, love, and the sacred act of showing up — for yourself and for others.
It is this journey — the fear, the fight, the fog, and the fierce beauty of coming through — that she now brings to her mentoring, her speaking, and every conversation she holds.
CANCER MENTORING
Because she has walked this road herself, Lorelei offers one-on-one compassionate mentoring for individuals facing cancer at any stage — from diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, and beyond. She meets you exactly where you are.
